Palabora Mining Company (PMC) is looking for for an experienced LHD Operator. The successful candidate will be based at Phalaborwa, Limpopo Province , South Africa. The incumbent will be responsible for operating the Load, Haul and Dump equipment in the underground works mining on shift basis.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring that all equipment under his/her responsibility is in good and safe working condition.
- Loading, hauling, and dumping ore to the Crusher.
- Observing the draw points for big rocks, excessive water, steel, and rubbers to prevent production delays and damages of the equipment.
- Conducting pre-check inspections and HIRA on the equipment and work area.
- Ensuring that SHEQ standards are maintained in the area of responsibility.
- Achieving production targets without damage to equipment.
- Reporting breakdowns or deviations to the Dispatcher/Supervisor.
- Participation in continuous improvement.
- Performing basic maintenance and housekeeping tasks.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric
- Provincial Driver’s license.
- Certificated and experienced to operate the Xinye, Toro and Elphinstone R1700 LHD`s.
Skills and Competencies
- Knowledge of maintenance practice.
- Must be a self-starter requiring minimal supervision.
- Effective communication skills.
- Safety conscious – must be able to identify potential hazards and take necessary precautionary measures.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
