Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring legal requirements, mine standards, procedures and policies are adhered to
- Providing effective support within the Ventilation and Occupational Hygiene Department
- Providing effective ventilation service to mining and engineering departments
- Participating in audits and risk assessments
- Conducting daily ventilation and occupational hygiene inspections and record findings
- Managing resources and assets
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent with Maths and Physical Science
- Chamber of Mines/Mineral Council Practical Certificate in Mine Environmental Control
- Chamber of Mines/Mineral Council Intermediate Certificate in Mine Environmental Control will be advantageous
- Practical experience of at least two (2) years in the Ventilation and Occupational Hygiene field
- Two (2) years’ experience in underground conventional and trackless hard rock mining environment
Additional Requirements
- Knowledge of mining processes, standards, procedures, safety and legal requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Effective communication skills in English
- Drivers license
- Medical Certificate of Fitness
