Job Description
Minimum Requirements
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
· Grade 12
· Heavy duty License, Code 14
· PDP License (Special and Passenger)
· Junior Certificate would be advantageous
· Defensive driving certificate would be advantageous
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
· 4 years commercial driving experience
· Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
· Planning and following efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries.
· Understanding and adhering to transportation laws and regulations
Key Responsibilities
· Perform inspections of vehicle systems, equipment and accessories such as tires, lights, turn signals and brakes.
· Ensure cargo is properly loaded according to safety requirements.
· Follow all Mine safety policies and procedures.
· Maintain paper logbook.
· Communicate with Dispatcher and other Haul Truck Drivers using communication devices such as a two-ways radio or on-board computers.
· May drive special purpose vehicles, including end dump trucks, centre dump truck units, shuttle cars, remix trucks and water trucks.
