Wits Health Consortium is on the hunt for 4 Counsellors to be based at PHRU – Louis Trichardt, Tshilwavhusiku CHC and Compensatie, Polokwane, Limpopo Province, South Africa.
The purpose of the positions is to To counsel, screen, recruit TB patients and educating them about research and to capture study data into the electronic database. To provide pre and post counselling specific to HIV infection.

Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
- Recruitment of participants for studies
- Maintaining a good working relationship with local clinic staff
- To do study related duties as specified by the protocol
- Complete the case report forms
- Communicate routinely with the study coordinator
- Do proper filing of results and any other study related documents in the relevant assigned place
- Capture study data into REDCap or any other system
- Provide written reports to the study coordinator
- Perform ad hoc tasks as and when required
- Perform fieldwork activities as required
Qualifications
- Education: Grade 12
- Experience: At least 2 – 3 years’ counselling experience in a clinical research environment
- Skills and Competencies:
- Fluent in both Xitsonga, Tshivenda, and Sepedi
- Computer literacy
- Basic Counsellor Certificate
- Good Clinical Practice certificate
- Experienced driver with a valid driver’s license and code 8 will be advantageous
The ability to work in a complex and demanding environment
Must possess strong organizational skills.
PDP would be advantageous.
Ability to multi-task and to work in a complex and demanding environment.
Must be detail orientated.
Must be able to work as a member of a team.
It is expected that s/he will apply consistent adherence to research and GCP practices.
