Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
- Safely transport passengers and goods to and from various locations.
- Safely transport dangerous goods, including explosives to and from various locations (site specific)
- Delivery and collection of goods and documents
- Complete log books and checklists accurately
- Adhere to correct load distribution
- Report vehicle abuse, defects timeously
- Vehicles are clean and maintained to standard
- Work in line with safety regulations and M&RC’s policies, standards and procedures
- Responsible for the safety of employees within area of responsibility
- Be prepared to sometimes work outside of normal working hours
- Effective self-management in alignment with M&RC’s values
Minimum requirements
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
- Grade12 or equivalent
- Valid EB driver’s licence
- Valid PDP (public drivers permit)
- Valid licence to transport dangerous goods (site specific))
- Police clearance certificate (site specific)
- Good English communication skills (written and verbal)
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
- At least 2 years relevant working experience as an EB driver
- Relevant experience as a driver in delivery and collection of goods and documents
- Understanding of correct load distribution on vehicle
- Experience handling and transporting explosives and goods (site specific)
- Knowledge and understanding of handling and transporting dangerous goods, including explosives (site specific)
