Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Report on all incidents and accidents
- Risk assessments must be carried out for each task
- Ensure tools and equipment is sufficient, in good condition and safe to use
- All legal inspections must be carried out according to the time intervals and a true report is recorded in a record book
- Report and act on all unsafe conditions and unsafe acts
- Be responsible for his/her sub-ordinates, maintenance schedules are to be adhered to,
- The individual is responsible to carry out the planned maintenance as pre the maintenance schedule
- Ensure that the housekeeping in the workshop/working area is adequate to carry out maintenance work
Minimum Requirements
- Matric certificate/ equivalent
- Section 13 Trade Test or Section 26D as a qualified electrician
- At least 5 years’ underground shaft experience
- MV certificate Compulsory
- Valid driver’s license
- Medically fit
Skills and Competencies
- Equipment installation, repairs, and maintenance in Decline infrastructure
- Workshop procedures, installation, and maintenance
- Legal requirement as per Mine Health and Safety act
- Installation and maintenance of machinery including HT switchgear
- Maintenance of quality engineering standards
- Knowledge of environmental, health and safety standards
- Working knowledge of the Min, Health & Safety Act and Regulations
