Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key duties:
- Delivering quality nursing care
- Identify, prevent and report risks to ensure patient safety
- Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment
- Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions
- Participate in creating a learning environment that builds staff competence
- Making sure that all used stock and equipment are accurately charged
Qualifications
- Education: Grade 12, Enrolled Nurse Certificate and Specialized wards, CPD courses in specific specialty area will be advantageous
- Experience: Non, 1 year post qualification experience before placement in a specialized unit will be advantageous
- Skills and Competencies:
- Basic life support trained
- Infection prevention and control (IPC) principles and protocols
- Pharmacology
- Scientific nursing principles and process
- Patient assessment skills
- Knowledge of nursing processes and procedures
- Computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Knowledge of relevant nursing legislation
- Nursing care plan skills
- Risk identification skills
