Job Description
Key responsibilities
- Operate the vehicle assigned to him/her in a safe manner in order to load, transport and offloading of blasted material without damage to the vehicle. The incumbent will be responsible for operating the machinery allocated to him/her in such a way that material is supplied safely and within time without damage to the machinery. Responsible for all activities under his/her control regarding safety. Ensuring that all Codes of Practice and Standard Operating Procedures are adhered to.
- Operate the mining equipment to achieve production requirements. Operate and control various types of mechanical equipment and machinery. Continuously observe/monitor component performance against standards to identify any sub performance/non-conformance or deviations, and report to Supervisor.
- Report breakdowns / damages timeously to the Miner and control room operator. Take care of assigned vehicle. Filling and levelling of roadways.
- Ensure safe and timeous loading, transporting and off-loading of blasted material and parking of vehicle according to Standard Operating Procedure. Identify loose rocks, request assistance and bar down the rock.
Qualifications
- Education: Grade 10 / Standard 8 Certificate., Code 08 (EB) Driver’s License and Completion of a relevant, approved training programme
- Experience: Entry Level : Advantageous: 6 months practical TMM experience and Advantageous: 6 months practical Mining/Engineering experience (depending on department appointed in)
- Skills and Competencies:
Communication skills
Organizing skills
