RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operation of FEL and TLB to either load, dig, clean trenches or ditch slimes dam
- Operation of excavator to either load, dig, clean trenches or ditch slimes dam
- Ensure that relevant SOP’s (Standard operating procedure) for the specific machine is followed at all times
- Responsible for general housekeeping of the machine
- General inspection of the machine before and after the shift and complete inspection checklist
- Adhere to safety rules and regulations
QUALIFICATION
- Grade 12 is essential
- Valid MQA accredited Competency Certificate for Excavator, FEL, and TLB
- Previous excavator, FEL, or TLB license or permit (advantageous)
- Experience and certification in operating other machinery (advantageous)
EXPERIENCE
- Approximately 2-3 years working in an earthmoving environment
- Tailings experience will be advantageous
SKILLS, QUALITIES AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Good communication (verbal and written)
- Good planning and organising
- Teamwork and observant
- Ability to operate without supervision
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must pass the mine’s criminal screening process
- May be expected to work rotating shifts
- May be required to work overtime from time to time
- Physical, mental and medical fit
