Job Description
Responsibilities
- Safely operate the Rock Breaker within a designated area and in accordance with set operating standards in order to achieve set production requirements.
- Operate the Rock Breaker to achieve production requirements. Continuously observe/monitor component performance against standards and procedures to identify any sub performance / non-conformance or deviations, and report to Supervisor and Control Room.
- Do pre-shift inspection of machines, machine parts, and/or components of the production line to ensure production flow according to standards within prescribed processes and procedures.
- Lock-out procedure to be followed when equipment is faulty and at end of the shift, including failure time recorded.
- Control tipping by LHDs to ensure tip is not overloaded and ensure safe operation of LHD machine in the tipping area using a robot system.
- Cleaning around tip area and tail pulley to ensure safe operation and to prevent any damage to the belt and fellow employees.
Requirements
- MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 10 / Standard 8 Certificate.
- EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to):
- Completion of a relevant, approved training programme.
- Advantageous: 6 months practical experience as a Competent Operator on Rock Breaker and Tip Attending.
